I first met Dana through my then, ex-husband, Dominic who had been through her Life Enrichment Boot Camp. He was so touched and inspired by what he learned about himself by going through the Boot Camp, that he began going to see Dana as a life coach. At this time, we had been divorced for two years, and he began to pursue me and desire reconciliation. He strongly encouraged us to go through the Marriage Boot Camp together, to which I agreed. It is at Marriage Boot Camp that I was first introduced to Dana, and immediately knew she was someone that would be a major influence in our life. She is so easy to talk to and has such a warm and friendly personality. We began going to see Dana together and separately for counseling in 2012. She coached us through some really difficult times! She laughed with us and cried with us. She was able to break through our very stubborn and selfish ways to get us to see how we could begin to work together in love and harmony and to break down the walls we had built up against each other over the many years of hurt. We had been to numerous other counselors over the years and, I admit, it was really hard to put my trust, my heart, and our story out there once again. But, we were able to find the best coach, friend, and mentor in Dana. She changed our lives and was the only one who could break through to us and coach us to victory, reconciliation, and reunion. We were just remarried this July 2014 and were able to bring our family back together again!! We learned what we needed and used the tools that Dana taught us to have a successful relationship. LOVE WINS! We could not have done this without you Dana!!

I am a client of Carla McGowan. When I first heard about personal coaching, I couldn't imagine that there was much to it. After going through several coaching sessions, I was amazed. Carla’s coaching helped me to see myself in every area of my life and focused in on the areas where I needed help. Through coaching, she helped me to come up with a realistic plan and time frame to work on and fix the problem areas. I was also able to reach some goals and dreams that I had left sitting on a shelf somewhere in the future. My whole experience was like looking through a pair of binoculars where everything was in the distance and quite fuzzy. I still remember Dana's words from our first session years ago. "If you want someone to cry to about what happened to you when you were 4, I'm not your girl. But if you want someone to help you focus on what you want in life and sometimes even give you a kick in the butt to keep going after it, I'm your coach." I feel God sent me a guardian angel in my life coach Carla McGowan. Her coaching is helping making so many positive changes in my life. I have self-worth and self-esteem again. I started seeing Dana about a year ago.  I have never in my life been in such a deep, dark place.  I spent days on my bathroom floor crying.  I took pills just so that I could sleep away the days and turn off my racing thoughts.  I was crying so much that I was missing work and I couldn’t function with everyday tasks. I literally had no hope and didn’t want to be here anymore.  I had been going to a therapist when a friend of mine suggested that I see Dana.  My therapist was clearly not helping in the way that I needed to be helped and I was willing to do whatever I had to so that I didn’t hurt so much.

Long story (very) short - I was in a “relationship” with a con artist/narcissist.  I loved him, so much that I gave up my world for 3 years while he was in prison.  I waited for him to come home so that we could start our life, as he promised.  During that time, I did everything I could in order to help him be more comfortable (food, clothes, visits, phone calls, etc.)  I also spent a great deal of time working with the State to get him released.  By the time he came home, I had ruined my credit and emptied my 401K.  He left me 2 months later for a girl half his age and never looked back.  It was so unbelievably cruel and hurtful.   He was mean, selfish and not at all the person that I thought that I knew.

Because of this, I fell apart.  I almost lost my job.  I couldn’t pay any of my bills and had to get help from my parents.  The person who I was planning on starting a life with had left me with no remorse.  I was sobbing every day, had to be taken to an outpatient psych program at a hospital, and lost and gained 40 pounds within a matter of months. 

There is no other word to more accurately describe Dana than “Angel.”  She literally saved my life.  I have no doubt that I would not have made it through this without her.  She came into my life at the exact right time.  She too has been through so much in so many areas of her life and has come out stronger for it!  Because of her I know that I am worthy again.  I know that I deserve better than what I accept for myself.  And it is because of Dana that I would like to follow in her footsteps and help to council others one day.  She is kind, honest, smart and giving.  I don’t have the words to give all of the praise that she deserves.   I highly recommend Dana (and I have) to anyone who needs help or guidance in their lives. She is the BEST.

This past year I became emotionally crippled, frozen with a floundering business, acceptance of my Mother’s new Alzheimer’s diagnosis and new role as head-of-family fiscal planner. This didn’t even account for my existing baggage in tow. I have been struggling with putting into words what Dana Hamman and Foundation Coaching Group means to me. How do you describe a life changing experience as great as this? Well, I will do my best! I met Dana at the Life Enrichment Boot Camp 2 ½ years ago. I was truly impressed with Dana and her ability to work with people and help them conquer their struggles. When she offered a free session with her at Foundation Coaching I thought, “Why not? It’s free and I don’t have to go back.” Well little did I know what that one session would lead to! Yes I went back again and again! Dana approaches life’s situations from a totally different perspective than I have ever experienced. In the past I sat with a counselor and moaned, groaned, and got nowhere. Well not with Dana! We identified the situations or baggage as we call it, and spent very little time mulling over the negative. Dana and the entire Foundation team are amazing!  They helped us all the way from the time we decided to go through the Marriage Boot Camp, to the point that we determined an amicable divorce was going to be our path and it was time to split up peacefully and maturely.

Dana worked with us through the entire process. The mediation, while challenging and emotional at times, went smoothly and efficiently.  With passion comes emotion but the main focus was always what was best for everyone involved and Dana kept us on task and moving forward.  She helped us part ways without hating each other or having the usual animosity that couples do during and after divorce.  Though divorce is unfortunate and painful, if it becomes inevitable, then this process is truly the way they should all go. With the help of Dana and Rick, we were able to file our own paperwork rather than spending our hard earned money fighting through attorneys.  

Now that it's behind us, we can focus on co-parenting our daughter as a team with the tools we need to handle whatever conflicts may come.  We both continue to see Dana for coaching and she is our parenting facilitator should we come upon any problems we can't resolve on our own.
